The product

The curing system determines whether the tube can transfer taste or odour to the food.

A food-grade silicone tube carries fluids that will be ingested or that come into contact with food during processing, packaging or dispensing. The material being silicone is not enough on its own: the formulation must be certified for food contact under the regulations of the target market, and the curing process determines whether the tube can transfer taste, odour or substances to the conveyed product.

Platinum formulations for food contact are extruded in the cleanroom

Tubes in platinum-cured formulations with FDA and CE 1935/2004 certification are extruded in the ISO 8 cleanroom at Progress Silicones in France (550 m² validated to ISO 14644-1), with particle, temperature and humidity control. Platinum curing requires no post-curing and produces no volatile by-products, eliminating any transfer of taste or odour to the conveyed product.

Each batch is supplied with a food-contact conformity certificate, process parameter records and full raw-material traceability for integration into the manufacturer's or processing plant's control file.
