Multilayer extrusion

Reinforced silicone tubing

Silicone tubes and hoses with a braid reinforcement embedded between two silicone layers. Withstands internal pressure and vacuum without collapse or deformation. Available with polyester, aramid or stainless-steel braid depending on service temperature and pressure.

Inner ØØ 4 to 100 mm
Temperature–60 °C to +200 °C · up to +270 °C with aramid
ReinforcementsPolyester · Aramid · Stainless steel
CertificationsFDA · CE 1935/2004 · USP VI (depending on formulation)

Maximum working pressure depends on the combination of diameter × wall thickness × reinforcement type. Consult us for each application.

The product

The embedded reinforcement absorbs the pressure and vacuum loads that silicone alone cannot withstand.

A plain silicone tube performs well at atmospheric pressure, but when the application involves internal pressure — process lines, pumps, pressurised tanks — or vacuum — suction, degassing, pneumatic conveying — unreinforced silicone deforms: it balloons under pressure or collapses under vacuum. The result is loss of flow, leaks at connections and, in extreme cases, tube failure.

ISO 8 cleanroom · France

Inner layers with food or medical certification are extruded in a cleanroom

When the application requires FDA, CE 1935/2004 or USP Class VI certification on the inner layer of the reinforced tube, the first layer (Series 12 platinum or Series 10) is extruded in the ISO 8 cleanroom at Progress Silicones in France, with control of particulates, temperature and humidity. The application of the reinforcement and the outer layer is carried out in-line without compromising the integrity of the contact layer.

Every batch is supplied with a certificate of conformity, process parameter records and full raw-material traceability for inclusion in the manufacturer's technical file or in the process plant quality plan.
