Silicone parts by HCR injection

We manufacture HCR (High Consistency Rubber) silicone parts by closed-mould injection. The high-consistency compound is fed through a cold extruder and vulcanises inside the mould under controlled temperature and pressure. Platinum or peroxide cure depending on the application.

Post-curing in oven (4 h at 200 °C) on peroxide-cured series when volatile by-products have to be removed. Platinum-cured grades cure without post-curing.

The product

Platinum or peroxide cure, hardness from 10 to 90 ShA and specific formulations: high temperature, EN 45545-2 railway, FVMQ fluorosilicone or repeated autoclave sterilisation.

We run a dedicated HCR injection workshop with cold-extruder feeding and 100 % bespoke moulds. Weights from a few tenths of a gram up to several kilos, single or multi-cavity, manual or automatic demoulding depending on geometry. The shop floor processes more than 40 HCR formulations derived from the catalogue base series, according to the part's end use.

Series 4 – Peroxide-cure silicone with low compression set and oil resistance

Series 4 is a peroxide-cured VMQ silicone formulation developed specifically for applications requiring excellent elastic recovery after compression (low compression set) and good resistance to oil contact.

550 m² of cleanroom for medical, pharmaceutical and food grade HCR parts

The ISO 8 cleanroom at Progress Silicones (France, 550 m² · ISO 14644-1 · BMS) houses the platinum-cured HCR moulding press and 3 stainless-steel ovens with sealed tanks, dedicated to parts for regulated sectors. 12 qualified operators trained specifically for ISO 10993 and USP Class VI grades.

The enclosure is pressurised and monitored, with access restricted to qualified personnel. Mixing and colour dosing of medical, pharmaceutical and food HCR are carried out inside the cleanroom. Periodic re-qualification of facilities and equipment under ISO 13485 and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).

Each batch produced in the cleanroom is supplied with a certificate of conformity, process parameter logs and full raw material traceability to feed the customer's technical file or regulatory validation dossier.
