The product

In the engine bay, connection hoses operate under conditions that destroy conventional elastomers.

Turbo gas temperatures above +200 °C, constant thermal cycling between ambient and service temperature, contact with coolant containing aggressive additives, proximity to oils and fuels, and permanent vibration. EPDM rubber hoses harden and crack under thermal cycling; nitrile ones cannot handle the temperatures. VMQ silicone retains its flexibility and mechanical properties from –60 to +200 °C, with no degradation from UV, ozone or thermal ageing — and with high-temperature formulations (Series 9, Series 20) that range extends to +300 °C.

Mandrel forming

Each hose is vulcanised in its final shape, not bent afterwards

The tube is extruded and placed on a metal mandrel with the final geometry — straight, bent, reducer, compound curve — before vulcanising. The silicone takes that shape permanently, which allows the cross-section and geometry to be held under service temperature and pressure with no need for additional clamps or auxiliary parts.

For OEM runs, we machine a dedicated mandrel from the customer's drawing in 2–4 weeks and reuse it for all subsequent runs. For boost-pressure applications, one or several layers of textile or aramid mesh are embedded between silicone layers during forming.
