Liquid silicone rubber (LSR) injection and plastic-silicone two-material overmoulding require a dedicated press park and a cleanroom environment that not every processor maintains. We have expanded our capacity in both: six presses dedicated to LSR injection and one plastic/silicone two-material overmoulding press, running in an ISO 8 cleanroom.
The new LSR area covers 1,500 m² of ISO 8 cleanroom and works under ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 for regulated sectors — medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food. The machine park includes six all-electric presses dedicated to silicone-only LSR injection, one plastic/silicone two-material press and one plastic press to make the carriers that are then overmoulded.
Until now our moulding was concentrated in the 550 m² ISO 8 cleanroom area where compression, HCR injection, LSR injection and extrusion work side by side. The expansion adds an area specialised in liquid silicone, bringing the total to 2,050 m² of cleanroom. With it we cover all three moulding techniques (compression, HCR and LSR) with more dedicated capacity in LSR and two-material.
The distinction matters at the project table. LSR injection starts from a liquid two-component A+B mixed in a static head and vulcanised by the mould temperature. Versus solid HCR, it allows tighter tolerances, thin walls and complex geometry, and scales from prototype to long series with automated demoulding. Two-material overmoulding joins plastic and silicone into a single part with no later assembly, which solves material-to-material joints that would otherwise depend on adhesives or assembly — a common case in medical components and connectors.
Nothing changes in the relationship with our customers: the same technical team follows ongoing and new projects. We have been processing silicone since 1985 through extrusion, moulding, compounding and technical gasket manufacturing, and with this expansion we add LSR injection and overmoulding capacity that was not previously concentrated in a dedicated area.
We manage every project end to end from our headquarters in Lavern (Barcelona) and export to the rest of Europe, America and Asia. LSR injection and two-material overmoulding join our catalogue with the same technical coordination and under ISO 13485, with no external processing.
